Want to increase your Hokkien proficiency to communicate better with seniors? YCS Eldercare Cluster is back to organise its 3rd run of dialect classes, “Hokkien for Youths”. This is the first time our dialect classes will be held on a digital platform. The classes will be conducted by very capable and enthusiastic youths who are well-versed in Hokkien and have held successful dialect classes in the past. This event is brought to you by Youth Corps Singapore Eldercare Cluster.

Learn conversational Hokkien which will be beneficial for communication with seniors during daily life and also in volunteering activities. The topics covered include: 1] History of Hokkien 2] Numbers 3] Grammar & Sentence Structure 4] Places 5] Household 6] Hobbies 7] Holidays 8] Anatomy and MedicineCommitment: 5th Sept - 24th Oct [ Every Saturday | 2pm - 4pm ] Due to the amount of resources put into this programme, we require your commitments of at least 7 out of the 8 lessons. This is also to ensure that your learning will be more fruitful. We are also looking to include a community service event that you will be highly encouraged to attend in Sept/Oct (Date is to be confirmed). Kindly note that slots are limited ( ~ 20 participants) to ensure that participants have ample opportunities to clarify any doubts that they may have during the lessons. By signing up, it does not guarantee your spot for the classes. In the event sign-ups exceed the class capacity, applicants may have to undergo a selection process. Kindly also note that all sessions will be held online via Zoom.
