About Adult Protective Service

APS's Executive Volunteer Schemes are as follows: (1) The Panel of Advisers (PoA) under the Vulnerable Adult Act (VAA) informs and advises the Court in relation to the protection and safety of a vulnerable adult (VA) or the appropriateness of making an order to place the VA in a place of safety or under the care of a fit person for more than six months, or making the VA's residence a safe living environment. (2) The Review Board under the VAA ensures a proper care plan is in place for the VA committed to a place of temporary care and protection, place of safety, or to the care of a fit person. (3) The Vulnerable Adult Safety Team (VAST) is a multi-disciplinary team platform to review the preliminary investigation findings of adult abuse cases, assess the risk and protective factors and discuss the interim intervention plan for the adult and family. (4) The Vulnerable Adult Longer-Term Outcome Review (VALOUR) is a multi-disciplinary team platform to review the ongoing progress of the vulnerable adult and family, review the progress of the intervention plans and discuss case directions for the vulnerable adult and family.
