About National Service Gallery Collections Assistant

Collections Assistants support the National Service Gallery's curatorial team in the cataloguing and sorting of materials and artefacts, contributing to the careful organisation and documentation of the Gallery's collections. You will sort materials, photograph items, and manage accession records to ensure that the Gallery's collections are accurately catalogued and well-maintained. Through your meticulous work, you will help preserve the physical and documentary heritage of Singapore's National Service story for future generations. This opportunity is suitable for individuals with an interest in history, anthropology, museum studies, or education, including students from Institutes of Higher Learning (e.g. polytechnics or universities) and retirees. Volunteers must have a good command of the English language, and cataloguing experience and photography skills are preferred. Individuals must uphold strict confidentiality and handle personal stories, artefacts, and materials with care and respect. No formal training is required, though individuals with a background in history or museum studies will have an advantage.
