    What if a simple conversation, a listening ear, or a regular check-in could make a difference in someone’s day or even life?   


    MENDAKI is inviting compassionate individuals to join us as Befriender Volunteers, walking alongside families through regular home visits. As a Befriender, you are not just giving your time — you are offering hope, encouragement, and a trusted presence to families while reminding them that they are not alone.   

    As a Befriender, you will: 

    • Conduct home visits to engage and build rapport with families 
    • Offer a listening ear, encouragement, and emotional support 
    • Encourage families to build future aspirations and confidence 
    • Share relevant community resources to support their needs 

     

    Why be a Befriender with us? 

    • Create meaningful impact in assisting the community 
    • Support and empower families to work towards a better future 
    • Receive training, guidance, and ongoing support throughout your journey 
    • Be part of a purpose-driven volunteer community committed to uplifting others 

     

    Who can volunteer? 

    • Aged 21 years old and above  
    • Able to converse in English and Malay  
    • Comfortable engaging with children, youths, and young parents
    • Able to commit for at least a year, with monthly deployment to assigned families  

     

    If you would like to make a difference and be part of something truly meaningful, we would love to have you onboard – join us in creating a positive, lasting impact with the families!

    Upon registration, you will be contacted for a chat session where we will share more about the programme. Please note that your information may be shared with relevant agencies as part of the selection process.
