Technology has the potential to enrich and transform our lives dramatically, from the way we connect with each other through social media platforms, to the ability to make cashless payment. As Singapore progresses on our Smart Nation journey, we must ensure that everyone, including our seniors, are digital ready.
Youth Corps Singapore is partnering with Info-comm Media Development Authority (IMDA), providing an opportunity for the youths to cultivate inter-generational bonding with the seniors through a digital clinic.
Digital Clinics are customised for seniors 50 years old and above, providing them with valuable learning opportunities and one-on-one assistance in using their mobile devices such as smartphones. The Clinics cater to users of both iOS and Android devices.
At the Digital Clinic, volunteers will provide one-on-one assistance to seniors who visit the clinic. The queries are usually about mobile phone settings (e.g. changing colour, font size, managing storage, technical issues), and usage of lifestyle apps.
This event is part of the Merdeka Generation Roadshow @ Downtown East. This volunteering opportunity is only open to Singaporean/PR youths aged 15 to 35 years old.

Volunteers will be stationed at the stations, and will assist the seniors in their queries on using the smartphone. Volunteers will be required to have or know how to operate either an Android or IOS smartphone.
