"Below the Poverty Line" Webinar [Y-Y]

  • This webinar aims to raise awareness on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) #1 (No Poverty) and #2 (Zero Hunger). You will learn about the local and regional poverty situation, and gain exposure to innovative ideas and opportunities for action. Our speakers will be sharing their experiences and efforts in combating hunger and poverty, as well as engaging with participants in deep dive discussions in breakout sessions. 

    Here is our speaker lineup:

    (1) Stefen Chow and Huiyi Lin, Chow and Lin (Based in China)
    Chow and Lin are an artist duo concerned with global tipping points. Their project, “The Poverty Line”, examines daily food choices faced by the poor, covering six continents over 10 years.

    (2) Mohamad Faiz Selamat, Free Food For All (Singapore)
    Faiz Selamat has been a volunteer & Board member with Free Food For All (FFFA), a registered charity (IPC) since 2015. Today, FFFA offers food aid to more than 1,000 vulnerable households every month, through the provision of Ready-To-Eat meals, fresh produce (vegetables and proteins), and children's breakfast packages. 

    (3) Julinda Dewi, Indonesian Street Children Organisation (Indonesia)
    Julinda Dewi is an Executive Director of Indonesian Street Children Organisation (ISCO). Previously, she was an area manager and a senior operations manager in ISCO. She is in charge of developing systems and programmes, and supervises all area managers in Indonesia.

    No community service is involved hence service hours will not be awarded for this event.
