ABOUT
  • What should you expect?

    • Engage the public on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare through outreach events (such as Pets' Day Out), community events, roadshows, school's learning journeys and other fun activities.
    • Assist with the care and handling of animals if they're included in the outreach events.
    • Communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, including children, adults and other professionals.
    • Conduct training for the volunteer training sessions.

    Requirements:

    • 20 years & above as of date of application
    • Good communication, public speaking & leadership skills
    • Comfortable working with companion animals
    • Passionate in promoting responsible pet ownership
    • Not allergic to animal fur or dander
    • Comfortable working on weekends
    • Can commit on a need basis when the volunteering opportunity arises
    • Volunteers will be required to go through on-the-job trainings

     

    If you are interested, please follow the steps below to complete your application process:

    1. Apply for your preferred orientation session on the portal
    2. Complete the AVS Volunteer Application Form found in the "Supporting Documents" tab beneath the opportunity title
    3. Email the completed form to AVS_Engage@nparks.gov.sg, during the registration window.

     

    Please note that slot availability is subjected to a first come first serve basis & only successful applicants will be contacted by AVS Education & Engagement Team and will receive an email to confirm the details of the orientation session.

This session will cover:

  • Introduction to NParks/AVS
  • Sharing of AVS’ education and outreach programmes
  • Role of volunteer
  • How to conduct learning journeys
  • How to do community engagements
  • Introduction to each animal in the classroom
  • Demonstration on animal husbandry

After attending the orientation session, keep a lookout for volunteering opportunities on the portal!

 

*Do note after you have registered for your preferred training session, please submit your AVS Volunteer Application Form to AVS_Engage@nparks.gov.sg, likewise during the registration window, to be considered for the training session. The form may be found under the "Supporting Documents" tab.
