ABOUT

  • KidsCount @ Marsiling is back for its second run! We would like to invite YOU to volunteer with us!


    Through this project, we aim to increase a sense of confidence in lower primary school students (P1-P3) who have developmental gaps when learning numeracy. We also engage them in fun and exciting activities to increase their joy of learning and close their competency gap in math.

    We are planning to conduct the programme over Zoom, but if Covid-19 regulations permit, we ultimately aim to conduct our sessions physically. Regardless, it will definitely be a blast!

As a Lead Facilitator, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, leading the group of volunteer befrienders (VBs) and children, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children and VBs, ensuring smooth running and timely execution of the programme activities and the conducting of pre-session briefings and debriefs for VBs.

As a KidsCount volunteer, you are required to:

  •  attend three mandatory Orientation and Training sessions on:
    • 19 June
    • 3 July
    • 10 July
  • Commit to at least 8 out of 12 KidsCount sessions from late July to late September, including 2 rapport-building sessions and one pre-assessment session (for the children) at the end of July.

Do take note that no service hours will be awarded for attending the Orientation and Training sessions. They will only be awarded from rapport-building sessions onwards, where there is direct engagement with the beneficiaries. 

Requirements

  • Age Range: 16 to 35 years old
  • Singapore Citizen , Singapore PR only

As a Volunteer Befriender (VB), you will be grouped with other VBs to engage and support children in their numeracy skills through a multi-sensory and concrete representational abstract approach. You will also provide assistance to the lead facilitator, such as technical support and managing the children’s needs.


As a KidsCount volunteer, you are required to:
