SG Cares Community Networks Outreach
By SG Cares Community Networks

ABOUT
  • The COVID-19 pandemic has created significant disruption to people’s lives. The impact may be particularly acute for households where family members suffer job or income loss.

The SG Cares Community Network Outreach effort involves public agencies, corporate and community partners reaching out to the vulnerable segment in different towns. This effort will involve volunteers making phone contact with households to ask them how they are coping, let them know where they can go to if they need help, and link them up with additional support if needed.

As part of the SG Cares movement, we are inviting you to volunteer to support our outreach efforts.  Let us stay united by caring for others around us, especially the vulnerable and those who have been hit hard by the economic disruption.

Volunteer

As a volunteer, you will be tasked to make phone calls to identified households in a specific constituency assigned to you. You will follow a call script when engaging the residents over the phone. Each call may last around 15-20 minutes.

You will be required to use your personal mobile phone but you will be provided with software which does not reveal your mobile number when calling the households. An Internet connection is needed to make these calls, so you will be advised to use WiFi networks to avoid incurring mobile data charges. You can make these phone calls from home.

All volunteers are required to undergo pre-deployment training. As a volunteer, you will need to be familiar with the call script and be ready to handle different situations that may arise from the phone calls. You will record and log the information provided by the residents using a secured central repository. Throughout the entire process, you must comply with data security measures to safeguard the residents’ personal data.

Please note that the location indicated in the shift duties is the address of the SG Cares Office. Volunteers will not be required to report to this location. You can make the phone calls from home.

Volunteers should be able to commit to complete at least 1 (4-hour) shift per week, for 6 weeks.
