The SGH Population Health and Integrated Care Office (PHICO) would like to invite you to be a part of the Walking with a Star (Total Knee Replacement) programme. The programme aims to support total knee replacement (TKR) patients to regain their knee mobility during their hospital stay.

It can be a stressful experience for patients to regain mobility after a surgery and they often look forward to a full recovery after surgery.

As such, we aim to provide more opportunities for patients to recovery with the support of our volunteers. These patients could do simple knee bedside rehabilitation exercises with the help of a volunteer.

Volunteer's roles

1. Support TKR patients with simple beside knee exercises

2. Befriend, encourage and motivate patients before and during their exercises.

3. Ensure safety of patients when walking with patients

Note:
-Volunteers are to be vaccinated against Covid-19, MMR, Tdap and Varicella.
-Volunteer opportunities are available on Mon-Fri, 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 4pm.
