[ Phase 2 - July to October ]

As a Volunteer Befriender (VB), you will be supporting the youths at =Dreams (scholars) in exploring their different interests and talents through workshop activities and conversations. 

Roles of a VB include:

1. To befriend a group of scholars through ice-breakers and team-building activities

2. To engage scholars in activities and group debriefs to invite their learnings from the workshops

3. To facilitate a group of scholars' talent and interest development throughout the sessions

 

Your goal is to have fun with the scholars during the activities and shine light on their respective learnings in the workshops.

You may be paired with another VB and tagged to a group of scholars to establish sufficient support.

 

Requirements (Please read before applying!):

1. No prior experience regarding befriending/facilitation is needed but having it is a bonus.

2. All volunteers must be young adults (aged 18-25).

3. Volunteer Befrienders are to be available for all sessions, including the mandatory orientation & training workshop. (Please select all the shifts you are available for, priority will be given to those volunteers who can commit for all sessions.)

4. Potential volunteers will be shortlisted for an chitchat. This is to verify their suitability and availability, as well as explore the possibilities of taking the "Volunteer Facilitator" role.

[ Phase 2 - July to October ]

As a Volunteer Facilitator (VF), you will be taking on a trainer role for one of the sessions focused on a specific talent or interestl.

Roles of a VF include:

1.To curate a 45min-1hr interesting and engaging session that could possibly span multiple engagement sessions to introduces in depth an interest or talent (eg. Video game coding, Art jamming, Design and Robotics)

2. To conduct the session in an engaging, interactive and activity-based (experiential learning) manner

3. Creation of slides / Provision of visual representation to support your session (if required)

Your goal is to value add to the youths at =Dreams (scholars) in terms of specific talents or interest that we have identified would be beneficial to their development.

There will be VBs available to support in facilitating the session with the scholars.

Requirements (Please read before applying!):

1. Prior experience in workshop planning and conducting preferred.

2. VFs must be young working adult / young adult with more than 6 months accumulative working experience (Aged 21-35)

3. VFs must be able to commit to at least one session in Phase 2. In the case of unforeseen unavailability, please inform us ASAP (1 week before).

4. Potential VFs will be shortlisted for an chitchat. This is to verify their suitability and availability for the role.
