Volunteer
As a volunteer, you will be tasked to make phone calls to identified households in a specific constituency assigned to you. You will follow a call script when engaging the residents over the phone. Each call may last around 15-20 minutes.
You will be required to use your personal mobile phone but you will be provided with software which does not reveal your mobile number when calling the households. An Internet connection is needed to make these calls, so you will be advised to use WiFi networks to avoid incurring mobile data charges. You can make these phone calls from home.
All volunteers are required to undergo a 2-hour pre-deployment training. As a volunteer, you will need to be familiar with the call script and be ready to handle different situations that may arise from the phone calls. You will record and log the information provided by the residents using a secured central repository. Throughout the entire process, you must comply with data security measures to safeguard the residents’ personal data.
The training sessions (via Zoom) will be held on 19 Sep (2-4pm) and 3 Oct (10am-12pm). Volunteers are to attend one of the sessions.
Please note that the location indicated in the shift duties is the address of the SG Cares Office. Volunteers will not be required to report to this location. You can make the phone calls from home.
Volunteers should be able to commit to complete at least 1 (4-hour) shift per week, for the 6 weeks.
This is a joint initiative by MCCY (SG Cares Office) and MSF. By signing up for this volunteering opportunity, you consent to have your details shared with MSF, and be registered as a MSF volunteer. MSF may contact you periodically to update you about other volunteering opportunities in your town/ community.
