ABOUT
  • Community Link (ComLink) is a community initiative where MSF and our partners come together to support families with young children living in rental flats. Through ComLink, we hope to provide more integrated support to these families. We work with volunteers, community and corporate partners to bring customized programmes/social services closer to them. Through this, MSF hopes to provide proactive, collaborate and community-driven support to help these families progress and achieve their goals.

Recognising the value of storytelling in building the literacy of our future generations, SSO@Bedok has collaborated with National Library Board and Surbana Jurong bridge the gap and provide storytelling sessions for ComLink families. Named NurturREAD (Nurturing a Love for Reading), the programme aims to help children develop a love for reading through storytelling and interactive comprehension.

Children will be grouped according to their age to ensure that the material being read is age-appropriate. For each group, the proposed ratio would be 1 storyteller to 5 children in the online setting. This will ensure intimacy and encourages children to take the initiative to speak up, ask questions and learn better.

You can help make a difference by registering your interest as a storyteller for ComLink children. With your help, we can help the future generations boost their literacy skills from a young age. Do join us in helping us make Singapore a caring and inclusive society for all! #SGUNITED

In view of the COVID-19 situation, all programmes are conducted remotely to safeguard the well-being of our volunteers and families. MSF will review and gradually reopen our physical volunteering opportunities once ready.
