Special Needs Cluster is back with Big Brother, Big Sister (BBBS) 5.0! BBBS is a regular series of Saturdates (playdates held on Saturdays) where children with special needs will attend fun-filled activities. BBBS 5.0 focuses on inclusive volunteering, where we aim to provide a common space for children and youths of varying abilities to intermingle and socialise. For BBBS 5.0, the playdates are planned and organised by youths with special needs (YSNs), alongside their respective youth volunteer mentors. We would like to invite you to join us as a volunteer befriender to befriend children with special needs during the playdates. Volunteer Befrienders (VBs) are expected to befriend children with special needs during playdates. Specifically, responsibilities may include:Engaging the children.Keeping the children within sight at all times.Guiding the children in completing tasks (as per the instructions from the planning team).Crowd control (e.g., bringing the children to designated places, garnering their attention whenever required, etc).
