This opportunity is a youth-led initiative part of Youth Corps Leaders Programme.
In conjunction with YMCA, Team Genesis is looking for Volunteers to support and work towards the social cause of improving the well being of the special needs community and help them integrate better into society.
Known as the YMCA Youth Club, the club will allow special needs clients to get together and have a home-like environment; with a diverse range of programs aimed at enabling special need clients with new employable skills and have fun at the same time.
Volunteers who can commit on a regular rostered schedule are preferred. Volunteers will have to go through a Volunteer Training Workshop.
Volunteer Befriender for 'Y' Terrarium Workshop
As a Volunteer Befriender, you will be empowered to create a positive experience for a group of individuals with Down-Syndrome or special needs through a series of workshops and activities. Your role will be to provide a fun and meaningful session for the beneficiaries, engaging them through learning of new skills.
'Y' Terrarium Workshop acts as the pilot programme in which beneficiaries will get to pick up valuable skills in Arts & Crafts. Furthermore, it acts as a time for both the beneficiaries and their caregivers to unwind and relax. There will be 4 different sessions of 'Y' Terrarium Workshop.
Compulsory Volunteer Training Workshop: 12 May 2022, Thursday, 5pm - 630pm at YMCA Singapore. More details will be provided subsequently.
