This is our inaugural session of our Uncover Through Films series where we seek to shed light and spark meaningful dialogue about pertinent social/environmental issues using film as a medium. This session would be themed around UNSDG 13 (Climate Action) & 14 (Life Below Water). The session will begin with a documentary screening of Blue Planet II: Coasts narrated by Sir David Attenborough that educates viewers on the coastal seas and the importance of these habitats and ecosystems. It highlights the need for these habitats to be protected and the perilous impact human activity can have on our coasts.
Following this, we will have our guest speaker for the evening, Ms Cheo Pei Rong, Nature Conservationist and Environmentalist, to share more about marine biodiversity and conservation in Singapore and her own experiences working in marine conservation. This would provide the participants with a more contextualised understanding of the issue and how it relates to them in Singapore.
