With the increasing connectivity on social media and other forms of mediums brought to us, it is easy to be influenced by present-day beauty standards and acceptable social constructs. Many times, youths are pressured by these standards around them and change their own perceptions of themselves. They try to fit into these standards by changing their habits of eating, working out and more. However, each individual is unique, special and different.
Kopi Talks: Body Positivity is curated to allow youths to raise healthy discussions in a safe environment - to focus on the acceptance of any body types and the appreciation of functionality and health of a human body.
Through a panel discussion and conversations with peers, we aim to encourage more of such topics to be brought up and discussed, so that we feel more connected to oneself and to a community.
This opportunity is brought to you by Youth Corps Singapore Engagement Taskforce.
