Engaging children during waiting time with craft activity and journey card
Location: KKH Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging (DDII), KK Women's and Children's Hospital
Duties Involved: Engaging children during waiting time with craft activity and journey card.
Volunteer duties include distributing and facilitating use of journey card with child patients, and checking any fault at activity areas.
Volunteer shift:
Mon / Tue / Wed / Fri
9.30-11.30am / 2.30-4.30pm
Volunteer commitment: At least 1x/ week on a fixed weekday for 2 hours per session. Minimum of 3 months continuous commitment after orientation
Minimum age requirement: 18 years and above
Vaccination requirements:
Volunteers must meet the regular KKH volunteer vaccination requirements before commencing:
• 1 dose of Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis) taken within the last 10 years
• 2 doses of MMR (OR blood test result showing measles, mumps and rubella igG Positive)
• 2 doses of Varicella (chickenpox vaccination) OR blood test result showing Varicella IgG positive)
Those missing any of the above vaccinations can still apply, and will be provided with instructions on how to get the vaccinations. The required vaccinations must be completed before starting the programme.
Additional information:
• You may register to volunteer for one or more shift.
• Upon completion of a minimum of 24 hours of volunteers (e.g. 2 hours per week for 12 weeks), a Letter of Participation will be issued to each volunteer upon request, certifying the number of hours volunteered.
To ensure consistency of engagement with patients, please note that regular attendance is required. The programme organisers have the discretion to ask those who do not have consistent attendance to withdraw from the programme and consider joining another intake when their schedule allows consistent attendance.
