Volunteer Befriender

As a Volunteer Befriender, you will be a buddy to 3-5 children and offer academic assistance to subjects such as English, Math, Science, and Mother Tongue (Chinese, Malay, Tamil). You will also create meaningful connections through games and activities, foster friendships while their safety and well-being throughout the sessions.

Requirements:

• Age range: 17 to 35 years old
• Volunteers will be required to guide and facilitate the learning of the different subjects
• Volunteers are required to commit to minimally 5-6 sessions (including first session)

Session 1 - 24 June (Monday), 3.30pm - 6pm

Session 2 - 1 July (Monday), 3.30pm - 6pm

Session 3 - 8 July (Monday), 3.30pm - 6pm

Session 4 - 15 July (Monday), 3.30pm - 6pm

Session 5 - 22 July (Monday), 3.30pm - 6pm

Session 6 - 29 July (Monday), 3.30pm - 6pm

Session 7 - 5 Aug (Monday), 3.30pm - 6pm

Session 8 - 12 Aug (Monday), 3.30pm - 6pm

• An onboarding will be conducted on the FIRST session. The first session is compulsory.
• Volunteers will be required to guide and facilitate the learning of the various subjects throughout ALL sessions
• Shortlisted volunteers will be notified via WhatsApp/Email

Volunteer Coordinator

As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will be managing a team of Volunteer Befrienders as well as supporting the operations of Study Buddy Programme such as:

• Curating and designing team-building activities to promote teamwork amongst the volunteers and children
• Executing and ensuring smooth operations of the weekly befriending sessions
• Supporting the staff in managing the volunteers and children
• Providing academic support if needed/requested by the staff
• Leading briefings and debriefing sessions to gather feedback on the sessions
• Ensuring the safety and well-being of the children and volunteers

Requirements:

• Age range: 17 - 35 years old
• Able to commit to at least 8 sessions or preferably ALL sessions
• Facilitation experience is a bonus!
