ABOUT

  • Do you have a strong desire to connect with the elderly?  We are searching for enthusiastic volunteers to befriend seniors at NKF Yishun Community Hospital.  Volunteers will be able to engage with seniors to offer a friendly presence  and companionship.

    This opportunity is brought to you by the Youth Corps Development Team (Care Corner).

Your role as a Volunteer Befriender includes:

  • Befriend the patients through meaningful conversations
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere by offering a friendly presence 

Requirements(Please read before applying):

  • Attend a online Orientation and Training (O&T) AND all 4 sessions
  • Age range: 17 to 35 years old
  • FULLY Vaccinated
  • Befriending experience would be a bonus!

PLEASE NOTE

  1. Online O&T: 30 May (Thursday), 6:30-7:30pm
  2. Befriending Sessions: 7 June, 21 June, 5 Jul, 19 Jul (Every Friday)

Location : Yishun Community Hospital

  • Timing: 6:30-8:00pm (Reporting time 6:15pm)

**Volunteers will be informed which site they are deployed to at a later date

This opportunity is in partnership with Care Corner Singapore & National Kidney Foundation.

Your role as a Volunteer Group IC includes:

 

  • Support staff in operations of programme (attendance-taking, registration)
  • Being liason point between volunteer befrienders and staff
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of patients and Volunteer Befrienders
  • Get feedback from volunteers after each session
